So how did you do?

🏆
Thanksgiving Champion 13–15 correct

You knew things in this quiz that most people at the Thanksgiving table have never thought about. That is not casual holiday knowledge. That is dedication.

🎯
Trivia Pro 10–12 correct

You held your own on the hard ones. The Jingle Bells question, the plumbers one, maybe even Israel. One more round and you are claiming the top spot.

🍂
Casual Guest 5–9 correct

You know the important stuff — Lincoln, the Mayflower, the parade. The deep cuts tripped you up but you can more than hold your own at the dinner table.

🥧
Thanksgiving Newbie 0–4 correct

You showed up, and that is honestly the spirit of the holiday. You now know things about forks, wild turkeys, and the busiest day for plumbers that most people never learn. Consider it a win.

The Thanksgiving facts worth dropping at the table

A few of the answers in this quiz are surprising enough to stop a conversation mid-bite. Here are the ones worth saving for the table.

🍂

The fork was not there.

The first Thanksgiving feast in 1621 was eaten without forks. Forks were not widely used in America until the 18th century. The Pilgrims ate with spoons, knives, and their hands. Plates were also rare — many guests would have used a large piece of bread as a surface.

🍂

Jingle Bells was written for Thanksgiving.

James Lord Pierpont composed it in 1857 to celebrate a popular sleigh race held in Medford, Massachusetts on Thanksgiving Day. The association with Christmas came later. It was also the first song broadcast from space — played on a harmonica by astronauts in 1965.

🍂

Wild turkeys sleep in trees.

Despite being large and not celebrated for graceful flying, wild turkeys roost in trees at night to stay safe from predators. They can also fly in short bursts at speeds up to 55 miles per hour.

🍂

Black Friday is the busiest day of the year for plumbers.

All those extra people at home flushing things they should not flush and running the kitchen disposal overtime puts enormous strain on household plumbing. Emergency calls spike more on the Friday after Thanksgiving than any other single day of the year.

🍂

Israel consumes more turkey per capita than any other country.

More than the United States, more than Canada, more than the United Kingdom. Turkey is a staple protein in Israel year-round and the country produces and eats more of it per person than anywhere else on earth.

Ready to take it to the whole table?

Testing your own knowledge solo is one thing. But if you want to turn Thanksgiving trivia into an actual group event, the printable Thanksgiving Feud game is where things get competitive. It is one of Print Joy Studio’s best-loved Thanksgiving games and a Star Seller pick with thousands of happy hosts behind it. Here is how it works.

How to play Thanksgiving Feud

The Thanksgiving Feud is a survey-style game where players compete to match the most popular answers — not the right answers, the most popular ones.

Photocopy the score cards so every player or team has one. Choose one person to be the Emcee. The game runs in two parts.

Part one is the Thanksgiving Feud round. Players fill in their answers to each survey question trying to match what the majority of people would say. The Emcee reads the official answers and their point values. Top answer earns three points, second earns two, third earns one. You earn points even if your answers are not in the correct order — so guessing in the right neighborhood still counts.

Part two is the Fast Money Round. The two top scorers from part one go head to head on a fresh set of questions, trying to rack up as many points as possible. Top answer is worth five points, second is three, third is one.

The player or team with the most points at the end wins.

The combination of survey logic and competitive pressure is what makes this one so good. People are convinced they know what everyone else would say — and they are often spectacularly wrong in ways that start arguments that last until dessert. That is exactly the point.

The download is instant. Print at home on regular paper or cardstock.

Want more Thanksgiving trivia questions?

If your group blazed through the Feud and wants a longer structured trivia experience, Thanksgiving Jeoparty gives you two full game boards, five categories per board, and 25 questions per game. Teams buzz in to answer, there is a final round for the top players, and the whole thing plays like a genuine game show at your Thanksgiving table. One download, hours of material.

More Thanksgiving games to keep it going

Want the full range of options? The printable Thanksgiving games guide covers everything in the shop with tips on which games fit your crowd size and vibe.

Now you’re dangerous at the table

The fork was not there. Jingle Bells was a Thanksgiving song. Wild turkeys sleep in trees. Black Friday belongs to the plumbers. You know things now and there is no putting that back.

Print the Thanksgiving Feud and find out which person at your table has been confidently wrong about survey answers for years. Happy Thanksgiving.
